Untitled (Electronic Leaf Artwork)
This artwork combines ideas about artificial life, survival, and human interactions with the natural world. Conceived as a “living” object, it avoids revealing itself as an act of “survival”. In the presence of light, the artwork stays silent, but when the lights go out, it comes alive, chirping and flashing subtle LEDs amongst its foliage. Human technology brings light to places of darkness, so the work explores humanity’s impact on the environment, and the nature of life itself.
