Letter To Mount Analogue
In this work Anna Nangle has created a contemporary ritual to explore the possibility of experiencing and valuing this land with reverence and humility. It exists as a quiet challenge to the historical domination and possession of territory. The work contrasts the symbolism embedded in this two dimensional historical depiction of Australia’s highest mountain and its ‘discovery’ with the modesty and three dimensional presence of plywood, clay, vellum, ink, leather and durational performance.
