Self Talk Yarning
In 'Self Talk Yarning', Alison Duff has recorded the conversations that created the topography of the social landscape on a recent visit to Fowlers Gap. Just like the leaves in the dried creek bed at Fowlers Gap reveal evidence of the previous water levels, conversations are the discarded yet tangible evidence of social discourse. On many solitary forays into the vastness, self talk and repetitive thought cycles become mantras for an internal landscape. Duff sees the circular form as a meditative symbol.
