Reflecting on a connection to place, Alison Duff's sculptural series 'Enfold' embodies the places where she feels at home: Yowie Bay, Pittwater and Minnamurra. By investigating the properties of kelp, a material common to all three places, Duff creates works that transforms kelp to reveal its beauty and fascinating shapes. Duff has worked kelp into three meaningful forms: an original boathouse light fitting, a shark’s egg spiral and netting, and a spiral used as an intentional reference to an embrace.
