Tanaporn 'Yue' Norsrida is a Sydney-based Thai migrant artist raised in Australia working primarily with traditional and digital drawing as well as animation. Their work directly responds to dislocation from Thai culture and identity in a post-migratory context. Hair is the most prominent motif in their work, carrying connotations of maternal linkage, identity, and cultural significance, and is a common signifier of supernatural entities. Oral supernatural narratives inform Norsrida's work and act as a vector for reconnection to culture and resistance within post-colonial Australia.
