Tidal Modifications
Michael Shippen’s work attempts to offer an alternative perspective towards genetically modified crops, challenging the unwarranted aversion from the public. With soaring populations and a volatile climate reducing food security around the world, Shippen's farming manual explores the collective adoption of genetically modified crops in a hypothetical future to demonstrate the sustainability of these enhancements in a climate-ravaged world. A safe way to grow produce in areas violently swept by winds and floods is by utilising the coconut's adaptation to such an environment. Pest resistance and safely floating crops could be very useful as a sustainable solution.
