Laura Ellison is a multidisciplinary artist working across performance, installation, sculpture and video to explore the manifestation of excess and the impacts of bodily change on the inner and outer self. "On the 6th February 2017 I had weight loss surgery, a gastric sleeve operation that removes 80% of the stomach. As a result, I have lost approximately 105 kilograms to date. The resulting bodily transformation is the focus of my creative research practice."
