The 'Ajrakhpur Project' is a hypothetical partnership between the designer and the Khatris, a group of block printing artisans who reside in the village of Ajrakhpur, Kutch, Gujarat. The collaboration has resulted in the development of a range of contemporary jackets that take inspiration from natural colouration processes and capture the exquisite detail of the local nomadic tribal wear or ‘kediya’ of Kutch. The importance of nature is paramount in creating fashion that is ethical, organic and biodegradable.
