A Culture of Disaster
Inspired by the artist’s personal history, ‘A Culture of Disaster’ calls attention to the issue of government corruption, particularly regarding typhoon rehabilitation processes. Erika Azurin aims to highlight these processes through the analysis and rethinking of contemporary Philippine protest art with each work curated to evoke historical motifs and symbols from this movement. Azurin hopes this work will act as a stepping stone for herself and others in uniting to take-action.
