Gross Adornment
'Gross Adornment' aims to address the biological relationship between object and wearer, revealing how objects of adornment go further than material worth and sentimental value. Deanna Wawn aims to disrupt ways of thinking and traditional notions such as value and wealth commonly associated with jewellery through the process of designing objects that directly engage with the biological relationship. Through this practice, one may reconsider their personal attachment to jewellery and broader preconceptions of how an object of adornment operates. The back of the rings have holes to collect the build up of the skin and other castoffs from the wearers' daily life.
