Wearable Moments - Vegetable Fabric
‘Wearable Moments’ proposes a sustainable answer to the ever-growing ‘fast fashion’ market through the development of a new ephemeral and compostable vegetable fabric. In this project, Brittany Endacott imagines a world where people only have one chance to wear a garment before it biodegrades, therefore becoming more valuable by belonging to the moment it is worn. Endacott’s new fabric lasts long enough for an event, yet short enough to return to the earth. By creating single-use compostable garments, Endacott challenges the problem of excess created through trend-forecasting while exploring an alternative benefit to fast fashion through sustainable methodologies.
