Women in the current Australian music industry are confronting a never-ending uphill battle. In 2018, only 29% of career music professionals identified as being female. This project works with women in Australia’s music industry to uncover the disadvantages, inequality, and challenges faced, in comparison to their male counterparts. Female musicians were each given a cultural probe to create their own surface treatments that are reflective of their experiences in the industry.
