'Problem Child' is an animated short film about a girl named Fortune and her relationship with her single parent Pamela. The film explores the fallout following a bullying event at Fortune's school, to which Fortune has reacted violently. Pamela is reluctant to confront her daughter on the issue as she does not want to further the rift between them, opting instead to try and get someone else to help. Fortune continues to ignore the feelings of those around her, choosing to invalidate them and ignore the consequences of her actions, despite the frustration she feels at people avoiding interaction with her. Fortune must eventually come to realise how her own behaviour feeds into a vicious cycle of alienation, not just for herself, but also her mother, who is also having trouble confronting the people in her life.
