Multi-Sensory Experience
Members: Alessandro Maggio, Oscar Marulanda, Daniela Perfetti Restrepo, and Divya Sisodia.
The design group DADO began as an experiment to research and address some of the most critical ‘wicked problems’ confronting society in the 21st century including global warming, environmental pollution, food availability, water accessibility, malnutrition, poverty and terrorism. This particular project developed into a multi-sensory experience that provides information about health and nutrition in an accessible way for people with disabilities. Challenging the way design practice has been dominated by sight and sound, the designers have used empathy-based research to create individualised solutions. As disability affects more than one billion people, this multi-sensory experience is a more inclusive initiative in ensuring the blind and visually impaired have access to education and health services.
