'Burial Homes' is a series of ink-based drawings exploring the architectural uncanny of suburban homes. In this work Clara Chung focuses on exploring the relationships between body and house, psyche and the notion of dwelling. As Australia increasingly embraces contemporary minimalist homes, this work aims to memorialise traces of 20th century urbanism. Taking on a surrealistic approach, Chung memorialises the uncanny and conveys a sense of nostalgia and attachment towards these suburban dwellings.
