'Between the Stitches' explores how the art of hand embroidery can become a visual platform for narrating personal experiences. This work embodies a strong connection to the work of the artist's grandfather who was a dressmaker, and how his garments have been cherished within her family. The excess cloth from his dresses act as a vehicle for documenting stories of her family’s past and are infused with her contemporary designs. Using the notion of drawing with thread, this collection evokes a lineage connecting time, memory and heritage.
