Alvin Zhong explores the relationship between sound, image, and emotion through 'No Captain', a psychedelic journey that progresses through and across virtual worlds. A veteran of Sydney's trance community and part of a global family of ravers, Zhong sought to create a considered sensory club experience that traverses from traditional fine arts practice such as a painting all the way through to non-traditional forms of animation through 3D and coding. 'No Captain' seeks to give the audience a deeper understanding of synaesthetic art, as well as pay homage to the dance scene that has shaped his identity.
