Coloured tacs and twine
Joshua Bentley's practice explores the roles of images in the post-internet world by reevaluating the function of materiality and process. His work challenges the way value is ascribed upon art objects allowing materiality and failure to influence creative agency. Using found objects and breakages, the works evolve from modes of recycling thereby questioning the role of authorship. Bentley attempts to locate images within a post-human landscape where material substances leak from within the frame outside into physical space.
