Christina Cai's installation 'Lost In Paradise' discusses how humanity's pursuit of utopia can impact the environment. The work consists of a video featuring a lone figure in the desert constructing a wall of rocks from the surrounding environment, and a sculptural series of hanging rocks which form a semi-circular layout. In this work, Cai reflects on humanity's endeavour to make nature fit within individual desires and serves as a reminder of the power of nature by forcing the audience into a claustrophobic space surrounding by the rocks' sharp ridges.
